The KIDA Block Program is a 90 minute, fun-filled social group program for children between the ages of 5 and 7 who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, or who have difficulty interacting socially with peers. The Block curriculum has been created to address social and play skills with children in small groups (typically 4 to 5 children). Designed and led by a speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist, the Block employs an interdisciplinary co-treatment model that will facilitate the acquisition, development, and application of social skills and play skills in a group setting amongst peers. 

In this structured Block, all activities are implemented in a naturalistic social setting, are pre-planned and guided, and relate to a thematic scheme, i.e. transportation, animals, etc. The purpose of the program is to teach children to play by eliciting natural opportunities for social interactions using a variety of media and activities in a fun atmosphere. The ultimate goal of the program is to enable children to generalize these skills across all settings.
