Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist

KiDA is looking for an experienced, energetic, organized and caring Occupational Therapist to expand existing and future programs. We are a center of excellence serving children with Autism and other developmental delays. We approach children’s needs both individually and as part of dynamic multidisciplinary teams working with licensed experts in speech, behavior and OT. We provide professional development for our therapists with ongoing support as well as a high degree of responsibility with room for growth. We have a large, well equipped and cutting edge facility located in Irvine California.

Our mission is to enhance children’s abilities using our tested treatments to develop, advance, and maintain children’s daily living skills and sensory needs. This involves improving motor skills, reasoning abilities, physical strength, and dexterity, as well as improving language and communication.

Responsibilities:
• Design, monitor, administer and supervise OT treatment;
• Conduct and participate individual and group therapy sessions with speech and behavior therapists;
• Attend and participate in meetings as required (team, staff, and IEP meetings);
• Communicate with the executive director about progress status;
• Manage client files and treatment logs in an organized manner as well as provide appropriate reports to interdisciplinary team;
• Document treatment findings, progress and other data;
• Research and investigate new treatments.

• Up to date knowledge of occupational therapy;

Special Education Teacher

Special Education Teacher

Kids Institute for Development & Advancement (KiDA) is looking for an educated, energetic and loving private teacher to educate children with learning delays in a professional setting. Responsibilities of special education teacher include designing individualized curriculum, executing curriculum, training classroom aides, collaborating with therapists, assessing student progress with data, revising goals as needed, and communicating with parents.

Required Qualifications:

The role of the Art Teacher/Therapist is to enhance children’s abilities across motor skills, sensory integration, communication, creativity, and expression through art.

The role of the APE Teacher/PE Teacher for Special Needs is to utilize tested treatments to implement activities related to recreation and sports with the goal of enhancing physical fitness and wellness. This involves improving sensory integration, reasoning abilities, physical strength, and dexterity, as well as integrating communication development.

Speech Language Pathologist

Daily activities include providing a range of enhancement skills including:
• Non-verbal communication: this may include gestural communication, or training with PECS, electronic talking devices, and/or other non-verbal tools;
• Speech pragmatics: when, how, and to whom to make statements;
• Conversation skills: back and forth exchange;
• Concept skills: work on building concept ideas;
• Address child’s speech production, vocal production, eating disorders, and language needs through speech therapy;
• Document and collect data on all consultation sessions and provide daily assessments including progress;

Required Qualifications:
• Licensed by the California Speech- Language Pathology & Audiology Board;
• Master of Science Degree in Speech- Language Pathology/ Communicative Disorders with two years of experience;
• Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential from the California State Department of Education;
• Experience working with children on the moderate to severe end of Autism spectrum;
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills;
• Positive attitude and desire to work with children;

Senior Behavior Therapist

Senior Behavior Therapist

Kids Institute for Development & Advancement (KiDA) is looking for a Senior Behavior Therapist.

Daily activities include:
• Provide 1:1 behavioral intervention to children and report directly to the program supervisor;
• Implement ABA programs as directed;
• Collect data and prepare weekly reports;
• Provide 1:1 instruction in the classroom;
• Assist in development of curriculum;
• Collect data throughout the day and enter it into the appropriate program;
• Assist in planning and implementing activities designed to enhance children’s social development, interaction, and motor skills;
• Provide oversight, supervision, and childcare services for the children onsite;
• Assist occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and other KIDA staff;
• Teach and provide enrichment for the children.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of a BA/BS in a Social Science;
• Currently enrolled or completed BCBA coursework;
• At least 2 years experience working 1:1 with children with Autism as a behavioral therapist
• Proficient with ABA based teaching strategies as well as PECS, Play PRT, Discreet Trial Training, and others;
• Experience with collecting and interpreting data;
• Proficiency with Excel, specifically with graphing;
• Energy, enthusiasm, and patience;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

ABA Therapist

ABA Therapist

KIDA is a fully integrated multidisciplinary learning program specifically designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. KIDA is currently seeking a Behavior Therapist for its Irvine facility to provide behavioral intervention to children with Autism. KIDA was founded to enhance children’s overall development in the areas of social development, motor skills/sensory integration along with behavior intervention using research based methods and programs. KIDA provides services to school aged children. KIDA is looking for an energetic and loving Behavior Therapist to provide the following services:

Daily activities include:
• Provide 1:1 behavioral intervention to children with autism, reporting directly to the program supervisor;
• Implement ABA program goals;
• Provide instruction in clinic based setting as well as in the home and community;
• Collect behavioral data as well as program goal data during each session, inputting them into an excel document;
• Provide parent education training and support to the clients’ parents and caregivers.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of a BA/BS in a Social Science;
• Currently enrolled or completed BCBA coursework preferred;
• At least 2 years’ experience working 1:1 with children with Autism as a behavioral therapist;

Research Assistant

Research Assistant

The Kids Institute for Development and Advancement (KIDA) is currently seeking an autism research assistant to enhance the services provided to children and perform the following functions:

Daily activities include:
• Researching, developing and existing technologies developed for the treatment or prevention of Autism;
• Working directly under the Managing Partner, providing information regarding the latest treatments, technologies, and research;
• Prepare reports detailing research findings;
• Collection and interpretation of data;
• Writing grant proposals for research in Autism;
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team regarding modalities for Autism treatment.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of a BA/BS in sciences with two years of research experience;
• A Masters degree is preferred;
• Specific interest in Autism and other related developmental delays;
• Prior experience writing grant proposals is a plus;
• Experience with collecting and interpreting data;
• Proficiency with Excel specifically with graphing;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Reliable, trustworthy, ethical and resourceful;
• Flexible and able to travel.
